The six-year-old little girl walked down the hall, approaching her Father's study room, when she got to the door, there was a small crack open, she peered through. Seeing her father sitting on the floor, facing away, he had candles burning and there was smoke streaming from the flames, dark blue smoke. She could see two other people in the room with him, but she knew that he couldn't see them. In one corner there was a transparent creature, hairless and it was black with white yet slightly bloody teeth.
Its eyes were light blue beads, it was looking down at her father. The other was sitting next to him on the floor, it was more solid looking, also hairless, it's skin brown and ripped up, it's head was hanging down, not showing its face. She wasn't afraid until after a few seconds of looking in, they both quickly cocked their heads towards her with wicked grins spread across their faces. revealing the other one's bright yellow eyes and its toothless mouth. She stepped back. She saw her Father turn his head, showing the profile of his face, just as he moved, the creatures stepped away into the corners of the room. "Sheik, are you there?" Her father asked calmly. She pulled open the door and walked in behind him, standing there. "Yes, father." She ignored the demonic creatures.

"Tell me... what is it you were doing?" He asked her.

"Forgive me Father... I just wanted to see.." Her voice was light and calm, she didn't let her fear show.

"And what is it that you saw?"

"..mh.... I saw....I still see.. two monsters.. they are in here with us.. they are staring at me."

"Ah... Sheik.. come here." He ordered.

The girl walked around to the front of her father, he sat with his legs folded and his palms on his knees. She looked down to him as he did up to her, a calm expression, His long white and gray hair draped down the sides of his face, his mouth in a subtle smile.

"These monsters you see, they give me power, you should not fear them, for power is required in this world. You are special, you are able to see them, I cannot.... they know you can see them, so do not fear them, for they will cling to you for guidance."

"Yes, father." She believed everything he said. The man stroked her chin gently.

"You know child... I go out on missions to gain power, and I do many rituals. If you would like to help me, I would be very grateful for that."
The man said as his calm expression stared at the girl. She lowered her head, trying not to see the dark figure in the corner of her eye.

"You....want my help?..."

"Yes, Sheik... will you please your father?" He beckoned with his head.

The little girl wanted to please her father, so she nodded her head in agreement. She didn't even know what she would be doing.

Sheik's Father was a bad demon, very dark and malevolent. He would keep to himself a lot of the time and when he'd go out, he was doing different types of sacrifices to gain power and knowledge. This would get him many enemies, so they would have to relocate to get away from the people and other demons hunting her father. Her mother was very careless, only doing enough to keep her alive. After finding out about her gift, Her father would sometimes use her during his rituals, having her communicate with the demons to translate it to him. The man would always be very calm, and though Sheik was a little scared of their appearance, she learned that they wouldn't do her anything.
Although this changed three years later.

She was sleeping one night, the only light was from the moon outside her open window. She was awoken by the sound of a man crying. When she opened her eyes, she saw an elderly man in her room, his feet had disappeared before they touched the floor. He was floating, a ghostly figure. He moaned in sorrow. She sat up quickly, seeing the spirit hovered over her bed, looking down on her with wide eyes.

"Young girl... your aura is so warm and inviting, like no one else.. you can see us.. us who have died." The elderly ghost said. Sheik nodded, not taking her eyes off of him. "I can go into it.. I want to go into your aura.. I have been lost so long." the old man spoke mournfully. Sheik remembered what her father had told her, so she thought she should allow the spirit to do what it wished. "It's alright.. come into my aura." The spirit moved closer to the girl and his body was stretched and swayed like smoke as it went into an unseen dimension. Suddenly Sheik was hit with a ghastly feeling in the pit of her stomach, it was a little bit of sadness, and the feeling you get when you fear you've lost something very valuable. She couldn't see the spirit anymore but she could feel him there. The days went by, but the feeling never dissipated, she began to wish she had never allowed it to enter.

Soon after, she one day spotted a lady outside of her window, she saw how the woman didn't have any feet, her eyes were miserable, even from a distance. Sheik knew right away that this woman was a spirit. She quickly tried to look away so that the ghost wouldn't notice her, but it was no use. The spirits could see her special aura.

"Such a pretty aura.... young lady... I...I wish to enter it..." Sheik heard the voice from behind her, She tried to ignore her, but the woman began crying and begging. "Please, young lady!...I know you hear us.. I've been so lonely... your aura is so peaceful!..I beg of you! let me join the other spirit!" Sheik turned and looked at the ghost, she was very reluctant, but the woman kept begging, and she knew she wouldn't go away. ".....alright...." Sheik said, closing her eyes. The spirit was quick to enter her aura and just as she did, The feeling the first one gave her was enhanced. Sheik grasped her Kimono with her fist over her chest, her eyes tightly shut as she felt the sadness and despair grow a little stronger.

Other phantoms were quick to follow, they could sense her aura. And soon, she had no control over them anymore, they would enter her aura without permission and there was no way to get rid of them. With each spirit, the feeling the first one gave her grew stronger, it was as if she would feel a little part of each spirit's pain. The night the fifth spirit joined her, she was a little overwhelmed. She decided on speaking with her Father.

Walking into his study room one night, he sat on the floor, books scattered about. Large shelves also filled with books. The room was lit with many candles. Inside, she tried to ignore the two demon spirits that were in there. They always seemed to follow him. He was reading when she approached, He lifted his head to her. "Yes?" Sheik held her fist to her chest. "Father.... something happened.. you see, the spirits have started to surround me, they tell me it's my aura, I can't make them go away." Her father put the book down to give her his full attention. "Oh? tell me more about this." He told her, very curious. "They disappear after they enter my aura, but I can feel them, oh father! it feels horrible, I want them to go away!" She pleaded, starting to tear up. "Shhhh, now Sheik, there is no need to be upset, my dear."

The man stood up and walked over to his shelf, Sheik watched him as he ran his hand across the books until he came to the one he desired. He opened it and flipped through its pages as he walked back to his daughter. "Your power is more special that I had thought, you not only can see them, but you attract them.. you are a spirit being." He placed his hand on the girl's shoulder and lowered the book, showing her an old painted picture of a man standing with swirling ghostly blobs around him all wearing sorrowful or menacing faces. The page next to it seemed to be talking about these demons or humans who were born to inhabit lost spirits. Her father began to explain to her just what she was. "My dear, a spirit being is a very rare ability, you will be able to get knowledge and power from the dead, they know things that the living does not, though a spirit being doesn't only collect spirits, but also the demons of hell.....and they are the ones that will give you power."

Sheik understood what her father was saying, but she was more concerned with the feeling these spirits gave her. "But father, I don't want that, I want them to leave me, the feelings they give me are too much to take." Her father was calm but not sympathetic at all. "Sheik, power and knowledge are everything, set your mind on achieving these things and you will pay any price to have it. These feelings will only get worse, the spirits are relying on you, and by joining you, they are transferring their pain to you." Sheik backed away in fear "No...no!" Her father was confused, he didn't know what troubled her suddenly, but Sheik could see the two dark demons approaching her, they were grinning wide, she screamed over and over as she backed up towards the door, when the spirits quickened their pace, she turned quickly to run, but she felt her stomach drop. a cold feeling washed over her, something menacing joined her, she could feel its stare on her soul and she felt the hate that these demons carried. She knew they had gotten into her aura.

"Sheik, what is it!?" Her father shouted, demanding to know. "The demons!.... the demons that were always around you!.... they joined my aura!..." She cried. Her father's face turned into a wicked smirk. He knelt down by his daughter and put his hand on her back. "You needn't worry, child." He handed her the book. "I want you to read this, all of it.... it will help you understand everything, and how to control them." Wiping the tears from her eyes, Sheik grabbed the book. "Yes, Father..." She was eager to read it, she hoped there would be something about how to get rid of them in it. Her father helped her up, her knees were weak but she made her way back to her room, feeling horrible from the demons. This made it hard to focus, but she laid on the floor near a candle and opened the first page of the book.

"spiritual and ritual life"

Sheik found it hard to understand all the things in the book, being only a nine-year-old, but she tried very hard.

"it is not a matter of metaphor and symbol or even psychology."

"frequent cures; clairvoyance, which includes finding lost people or objects, divination, prediction, or forms of wisdom speaking; and satisfaction or joy. these three effects repeating"

"My research was developing into the study of a twice repeated healing ritual. To my surprise, the healing of the second soul culminated in my sighting a spirit."

"I describe exactly how this curative ritual reached its climax, including how I myself was involved in it; how the traditional monk bent down singing and drumming to extract the harmful spirit; and how I saw with my own eyes a large, gray cloud of something like plasma emerge from the sick woman's back."

"Common ways people protected themselves included carrying around an amulet such as a ring or inscribing various symbols or numbers"
"Tatari Gami burns the ground it walks on, a demonic spirit that seeks harm."

"The tradition of commanding demons goes back to legends. The First legend is a cautionary tale about making a pact with the devil. It emerged during the time of the Protestant revolution"

Sheik had always been a bit smarter them most children her age. for if she had a question, her mother or father would tell her like it is, not making it age appropriate. and she learned a lot from the rituals with her father. As she finished the book late that night, she heard the wind blowing hard outside. She yawned and got up, taking the book with her as she returned to her father's study, she was surprised to see him still there hours later. She entered the room quietly as he was reading. She handed the book to him. "I finished reading it." She said. To his surprise, he replied, "Already?... did you learn anything?" He grabbed the book and set it down on the floor. Sheik nodded. He got up and
walked up to his shelf.

he put a few things into his Kimono, then walked back to Sheik. taking her by the hand then began walking, he took her outside where it was storming. Rain pouring on their heads. "Where are we going?" she asked. "I am taking you to another ritual, now that those demons are with you, you will be able to command them, they will listen."
The first part of Sheik's story.
for the parts in the book I did get some quotes from sites about demons and spirits. just making that clear :)

This is really Interesting and intriguing.   the fact she can control Spirits and Demons is pretty cool.    and her father doesn't seem able to comprehend what she is going through apparently.

Pretty interesting story for this character.   I always like Demons and Spirits so this is definitely a plus to me haha.

feel sorry for her having to feel the pain of demons or spirits who enter her aura tho
